With over two decades of experience in the display and electronics sectors, Harit’s contributions have been instrumental in the industry’s growth.

Doshi is deeply involved with SID, currently serving on SID’s board as the secretary and conventions chair for Display Week 2023. He was the I-Zone chair from 2016 to 2020, during which time it doubled in size and became a highlight at the conference. During uncertain times, he became the Display Week exhibition chair in 2020 to spearhead the transition to a virtual exhibition. He served as the convention chair in 2021 and helped the meeting break even despite a 70 percent drop in revenue.

Doshi’s Background and Early Life Harit Doshi’s journey begins in Udaipur, India, a city renowned for its history and scenic beauty. Influenced by a family of ministers and entrepreneurs, he was instilled with a sense of community service and a strong work ethic. His father and grandfather were entrepreneurs in the mining and distribution sectors. Harit’s exposure to his grandfather’s business dealings sparked his interest in entrepreneurship.

Educational Pursuits and Move to the United States Despite the family’s business background, Harit prioritized education. He pursued a degree in chemical engineering at Pune University in India, which laid the foundation for his future endeavors. His pursuit of further education led him to the United States, where he received a full scholarship to attend the Georgia Institute of Technology. This marked the beginning of his transformative journey.

Career at Corning and Transition to E Ink After completing his studies, Harit joined Corning, initially in their R&D team. His work developing next-generation fibers and technologies prepared him for a dynamic career ahead. He was then offered a position at E Ink, a company specializing in electronic paper displays. Harit played a crucial role in developing E Ink’s pioneering electrophoretic eReader display, which contributed significantly to the company’s revenue growth.

Taking the Lead: General Manager and Beyond Harit’s journey at E Ink continued as he transitioned into commercial roles, eventually becoming the general manager. He managed the growth of the signage business unit, establishing partnerships and expanding the product line. Harit’s leadership contributed to E Ink’s remarkable success, securing a dominant market share in the eReader industry.

The Birth of Omniply Technologies Harit’s entrepreneurial spirit led him to Omniply Technologies, where he assumed the role of CEO. Omniply specializes in liftoff technology for flexible displays, a promising field with applications in OLEDs, microLEDs, sensors, and more. Harit’s leadership has been pivotal in advancing this groundbreaking technology.

SID Involvement: From Volunteer to Leader Harit’s involvement with SID began as a volunteer, chairing the I-Zone initiative, which provides exhibit space for startups and universities at Display Week. He significantly expanded the program’s reach and impact. During challenging times, Harit’s leadership as the convention chair helped steer SID toward hosting a successful virtual exhibition, ensuring the organization’s financial stability.
