Responsibilities

This position requires a one-year commitment as First Vice President. Candidates must hold Member grade or higher in the IEEE and have been a Computer Society member for the preceding three years.

The First Vice President executes a portfolio assigned by the President to achieve key objectives and attend to major issues and purposes. The First Vice President provides counsel and assistance to the President and other volunteer leaders, as well as leadership and direction to officers and Society programs. The First Vice President is second in succession to the President and first in succession to the President-Elect.

The First Vice President serves as a franchised member of the Executive Committee, Board of Governors, and Planning Committee
