Future of the Workforce PanelAnother great panel session from the IEEE Computer Society’s signature Computers, Software, and Applications Conference (COMPSAC) held July 12, 2021. COMPSAC is a week-long yearly conference that brings together computer science and information technology professionals and researchers from across the world to network and share their most recent discoveries. The meeting rotates annually from Asia, North American, and Europe. Unfortunately, this was the second year this 45-year-old conference was conducted virtually once again. 2021 was a special year for COMPSAC as it was held during the Computer Society’s 75th anniversary year.

Panel: Future of Workforce

The Future of Workforce panel discusses issues and technologies that impact the future of the workforce at the corporate and regional scale as well as addressing effects on individuals in the workforce. The focus is on economic, technological, ecological, and societal matters. The panel addresses categories such as personal technologies, automation, technology infrastructure, and security. Outcomes from 10 globally held workshops engaging high profile individuals from industry, government and academia will be presented, predicting the direction of how the workforce will evolve due to pandemics and beyond. Based on their work, panelists make recommendations to industry, legislators, and professional organizations regarding what to consider when planning for the future of their workforces.

Panelists include Dejan Milojicic, Nita Patel, and Tom Coughlin.

About COMPSAC

COMPSAC is the IEEE Computer Society Signature Conference on Computers, Software and Applications. It is a major international forum for academia, industry, and government to discuss research results and advancements, emerging challenges, and future trends in computer and software technologies and applications. The theme of COMPSAC 2021 is “Intelligent and Resilient Computing for a Collaborative World.”
