LOS ALAMITOS, Calif., 8 July, 2010 – IT services provider Sella Servizi Bancari has added the IEEE Computer Society’s Certified Software Development Associate (CSDA) certification to its new recruit training program, facilitated by Purna Career Solutions (PCS), a Computer Society Registered Education Provider.
PCS, based in Chennai, India, will offer CSDA training modules to recent graduates enrolled in Sella Servizi Bancari’s new recruit training program. PCS earlier this year formed a strategic partnership with the Computer Society to offer training for the CSDA credential for entry-level professionals, as well as its Certified Software Development Professional (CSDP) credential for mid-level professionals.
Deivasigamani J., head of human resources at Sella Servizi Bancari, said the company plans to blend its new recruit training for job-seeking freshers with in-house awareness sessions, deep dive hands-on-experience, and the CSDA modules offered by PCS. “I’m confident that will increase the depth of knowledge and develop useful combinations of skills for becoming better software professionals,” he said.
The CSDA program is intended to strengthen and enhance recent graduates’ knowledge of software engineering principles, and demonstrate their competence of established software engineering practices.
Sella Servizi Bancari S.C.p.A is a branch office of Banca Sella Group, a Northern Italy private bank, providing software development services and working extensively on Java and Microsoft technologies.
Under the agreement with the Computer Society, PCS will set up 22 learning centers to leverage the existing Indian talent pool and maximize benefits to the student community. The company is promoting both Computer Society certifications in all engineering colleges, universities and software companies in the state of Tamilnadu to help the IT industry secure qualified students right after graduation.

As part of IEEE’s India Initiative, the IEEE Computer Society is extending its benefits to Indian technical institutions, especially the faculty and students of computer science, software engineering, IT, and software applications. VIT University, Vellore recently became the first Indian university to sign an agreement to offer the CSDA certification to its students and entry-level software engineers. The Siemens Group in India is using both the CSDA and CSDP to raise software development standards within the company.
