Walz and Reisman Attend CoMNet in India

LOS ALAMITOS, Calif., 13 December, 2011 – IEEE Computer Society 2011 President Sorel Reisman and 2012 President John Walz attended the International Conference on Communication and Networks (CoMNet) in Udaipur, India, earlier this month.
CoMNet, held from 4-6 December, was co-sponsored by the Computer Society of India, the College of Technology and Engineering, The Institution of Engineers, Udaipur Local Centre, Techno India NJR Institute of Technology, and the IEEE Computer Society.
During his opening address, CSI 2012 President-elect Satish Babu discussed the use of open source software in the e-government applications. He also highlighted the role of communication and network research in the uplift of various segments of society. Reisman, a keynote speaker, shared information about Computer Society events and activities.
A total of 70 papers were presented over the three-day event, which included eight technical sessions and a workshop on free and open source software. The papers related to traffic profiling, security, e-health, sensor networks, ad-hoc networks, and energy-efficient networks.
At the conference, Aspire Human Capital Management and iCarnegie, a subsidiary of Carnegie Mellon University, announced that they have signed an agreement with Techno India NJR Institute of Technology in Udaipur to use Aspire's ITPro product to prepare their computer science and IT students.
