Purpose

The purpose of the CS4Industry Committee is to develop programs that allow IEEE CS to engage with, and strengthen relationships with the industry. It aims to provide value to our members by addressing the strategic objectives #1-3 of the IEEE CS. The initiative was founded by Dr Cyril Onwubiko in 2024.

Currently, we have two projects being developed through this committee:

  • Career Catalyst Program
  • Career & Curricula Ontology Tool.

Career Catalyst Program

The IEEE CS Career Catalyst Program is a new initiative designed to connect students with industry professionals through mentorship, networking, and career-building opportunities. Organized in partnership with the IEEE CS MGA Board, this program helps students gain direct access to experienced industry professionals, offering insights into private-sector careers, career coaching, and industry engagement.

Through career sessions, industry-hosted experiences, and professional guidance, students will develop the skills, connections, and confidence needed to transition successfully into the workforce. [Include link to Webpage to CS Career Catalyst]

Team:

Career & Curricula Ontology Tool

Developing a career and curricula ontology tool that compares CS curricula from different countries, and career/job positions and required skills to recommend appropriate skills or certifications. The tool should support multilingual, or ability to interpret curricula written in languages other than English.
