The IEEE Computer Society today announced a new partnership with theIPregistry.org to modernize and streamline IP authentication services for its institutional subscribers. Effective 15 September 2026, the IEEE Computer Society will integrate with theIPregistry.org to manage, verify, and automate IP address updates for access to its digital library content.

This partnership introduces a secure, automated framework designed to enhance service accuracy and reduce administrative burdens for subscribing libraries and institutions. By transitioning to theIPregistry.org, subscriber IP address updates will be verified and automatically uploaded to the IEEE Computer Society access management system via API, eliminating manual entry errors, preventing duplication, and ensuring uninterrupted service.

Key Benefits for Subscribers

  • Centralized Management: Manage institutional IP addresses in one central location and broadcast updates to multiple publishers simultaneously with a single click.
  • Automated Validation: Eliminate entry errors through automated verification checks, preventing service disruptions and ensuring precise access control.
  • Streamlined Workflows: Save valuable time and simplify administrative processes by removing the need to manually submit IP updates to customer support.

Instructions for Subscribers

To ensure seamless access and a smooth transition ahead of the launch date, subscribing organizations using IP authentication are encouraged to confirm their registered data by taking the following steps:

  1. Register for a free account at https://app.theIPregistry.org.
  2. Verify and confirm the IP addresses currently registered to your organization.
  3. Submit any additions, modifications, or deletions directly through your user portal.

Moving forward, the IEEE Computer Society requests that all future IP address changes be submitted via theIPregistry.org. Organizations not currently utilizing IP authentication will experience no impact to their existing service.
