Ming C. Lin received her BS, MS, and PhD in EECS from University of California, Berkeley. She is currently the John R. and Louise S. Parker Distinguished Professor of Computer Science at University of North Carolina Chapel Hill and an honorary Chair Professor at Tsinghua University, China. She’s received many honors and awards, including the IEEE VGTC/VR Technical Achievement Award 2010, Carolina’s WOWS Scholar 2009–2011, and nine best paper awards. She’s a Fellow of ACM and IEEE. Her research interests include computer graphics, robotics, and human–computer interaction. She has (co-)authored over 250 refereed scientific publications and four books. She’s cochaired over 25 IEEE/ACM conferences and workshops and served as a PC member for over 130 leading IEEE and ACM conferences. She’s the Editor in Chief of IEEE Transactions on Visualization and Computer Graphics (TVCG). She’s also served on ten editorial boards of several journals and magazines and steering committees of conferences (such as IEEE VR, VGTC/VR Award Committee, VIS Best Paper Committee, VGTC Executive Committee, IEEE ToH, IEEE CS Fellow Committee, ACM/EG SCA, and more), as well as technical advisory boards for the government, industry, and international research community.
