In Memoriam: Rae Earnshaw

It is with a heavy heart we share the news that our friend and honored IEEE CG&A colleague Rae Earnshaw, passed away on 22 April 2025.

Rae was a longtime member of the CG&A editorial board and, at the time of his passing, served on the CG&A Advisory Council. From his early work with line plotters in the 1970s to his more recent contributions in creativity and AI, Rae was a true trailblazer. He had a distinguished career spanning computer graphics and its many evolving fields and was an inspiring teacher and mentor to many.

Rae’s contributions to our field and community will not be forgotten. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends and colleagues.
