IEEE TVCG Recognizes Three Best Papers in Visualization

Each year, IEEE Transactions on Visualization and Computer Graphics (TVCG) features the proceedings of IEEE VIS as a special issue. The TVCG February 2021 issue includes the articles featured at IEEE VIS 2020, which was composed of three conferences: the IEEE Conference on Visual Analytics Science and Technology (IEEE VAST 2020), the IEEE Information Visualization Conference (IEEE InfoVis 2020), and the IEEE Scientific Visualization Conference (IEEE SciVis 2020). Contained in the special issue are the top 147 papers selected by the program committees of these three conferences from a total of 586 submissions.

In addition to the 147 papers that were selected by the VIS program chairs, the special issue highlights the best papers of three events co-located with IEEE VIS. They are:

IEEE Symposium on Visualization in Data Science (VDS) 2020 best paper:

Passing the Data Baton: A Retrospective Analysis on Data Science Work and Workers

by Anamaria Crisan, Britta Fiore-Gartland, and Melanie Tory

IEEE Symposium on Visualization for Cyber Security (VizSec) 2020 best paper:

A Visualization Interface to Improve the Transparency of Collected Personal Data on the Internet

By Marija Schufrin, Steven Lamarr Reynolds, Arjan Kuijper, and Jörn Kohlhammer

IEEE Symposium on Large Data Analysis and Visualization (LDAV) 2020 best paper:

Foveated Encoding for Large High-Resolution Displays

By Florian Frieß, Matthias Braun, Valentin Bruder, Steffen Frey, Guido Reina, and Thomas Ertl
