协会的宗旨是科学、文学和教育性质。协会将大力发展计算机和信息处理科学技术的理论、实践和应用,在社会中保持较高的专业地位。协会应促进其成员之间的技术信息合作和交流,为此目的,应举行会议,介绍和讨论技术论文,支持终身职业教育和认证,制定标准,出版技术期刊,应提供技术性和专业性的产品和服务,并应通过其组织和其他适当手段满足其成员的需要。

第三节

协会的范围包括与计算机和信息处理科学和技术有关的理论、设计、实践和应用的各个方面。
