Learning Technology Standards Committee

Learn more about the Learning Technology Standards Committee, it's mission, it's chair, and more.

STANDARDS COMMITTEE WEBSITE

The IEEE Learning Technology Standards Committee (LTSC) is chartered by the IEEE Computer Society Standards Activity Board to develop globally accredited technical standards, recommended practices, and guides for learning technology. The IEEE LTSC adheres to an open and transparent, formal standards development process.

IEEE LTSC collaborates with other organizations, both formally and informally, to produce specifications and standards for learning technologies. Membership is required to view Working Group and Study Group documents and contribute to email lists, and to vote on draft standards and participate in ballot resolution.

Active Working Groups are addressing needs such as extending the xAPI suite and improving adaptive institutional systems interoperability. The use of generative AI in learning technologies is currently under discussion, with best practices expected to emerge in the future.

LTSC standards support developers and users of learning technologies across sectors and levels of education and training, from PK-20 education to workforce and military learning and development. To subscribe LTSC listserve please follow this link.
