SWEBOK Summit Report
On 29 April 2025, the first IEEE SWEBOK Summit was held. Leading researchers and technology experts on software engineering presented on how the Software Engineering Body of Knowledge (SWEBOK), as a consensus-driven knowledge derived from the interaction between software engineering theory and practice, can improve the industry and shape future practitioners. The latest update introduces needful topics, updates extant ones, and retires outdated subjects, keeping the contents up-to-date and anticipating needs growing in tandem to current technological developments.
The summit aimed to align academic research with real‑world industry needs. Proudly sponsored by the IEEE Computer Society.
