2022 Awardees from the Technical Community on the Internet

TCI Award WinnersThe Technical Community on the Internet (TCI) has announced Dr. Misha Rabinovich as the recipient of the TCI Distinguished Service Award and Dr. Xiong Zehui as the recipient of the TCI Rising Star Award recipients.

TCI Distinguished Service Award


Dr. Misha Rabinovich, a professor in the EECS department at Case Western Reserve University, has lent his time, experience, and leadership to the community. His contributions include serving on the TCI executive committee from 2012-2016, being editor-in-chief of IEEE Internet Computing, co-chairing the International World Wide Web Conference, and being an associate editor for ACM Transactions on the Web.

Additionally, Dr. Rabinovich has received the AT&T Labs’ Research Excellence Award and several best papers. He’s responsible for creating new research opportunities, patents, books, and papers.

TCI Rising Star Award


Dr. Xiong Zehui, assistant professor at the Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD) and an honorary adjunct senior research scientist at Alibaba-NTU Singapore Joint Research Institute.

Dr. Xiong received his PhD in April 2020 and has over 4,500 citations on Google Scholar while receiving over 10 best paper awards and was the recipient of the IEEE Technical Community on Scalable Computing (TCSC) Early Career Award for Excellence in Scalable Computing.

Dr. Xion is also an active member of the community. He serves as a guest editor for IEEE Journal on Selected Areas in Communications, IEEE Transactions on Vehicular Technology, IEEE Internet of Things Journal, IEEE Transactions on Cognitive Communications and Networking, and IEEE Transactions on Network Science and Engineering.
