IEEE CS SYP ventures into effective YP engagement with the IEEE CS YP Mentoring Program. The program focuses on accelerating professional growth & enhancing leadership acumen of young professional members by connecting junior YPs with senior members in a mentee-mentor setup.

This program is designed to provide the junior YPs with a mentor who can stimulate their growth. Simultaneously, the senior members involved as mentors get a platform to strengthen their soft skills (especially, communication, leadership & interpersonal skills).

The pilot edition is organized into two tracks

  • Track 1 (Industry): This track is dedicated to YPs working in the private sector. This could either refer to a postgraduate student approaching her/his first job, or an experienced YP interested in broadening her/his skillset.
  • Track 2 (Academia): This track is dedicated to graduate and postgraduate students interested in pursuing a career in academia. This includes graduate students, individuals approaching their first research position as postdocs, postdoctoral researchers interested in applying for their first faculty position, or junior faculty at the early stage of their career.

Program Duration: 6 Months

Eligibility criteria for serving as a mentor for the program

  • Having at least eight years of experience in the industry (only for Track 1)
  • Being at least three years after graduation (only for Track 2)
