The IEEE Computer Society TCHPC Early Career Researchers Award for Excellence in High Performance Computing recognizes up to 3 individuals who have made outstanding, influential, and potentially long-lasting contributions in the field of high-performance computing (HPC) within 5 years of receiving their PhD degree as of January 1, 2026. It is sponsored by the IEEE Computer Society Technical Community on High Performance Computing (TCHPC).
Nominations
Nominations must follow these guidelines:
- A candidate must be nominated by a member of the community. Please note that self-nominations are not permitted.
- An individual may nominate at most one candidate for this award.
- The nominee must be within 5 years of receiving their PhD degree as of January 1, 2026.
- The nomination should provide evidence of the nominee’s outstanding, influential, and potentially long-lasting contributions in the field of HPC.
The nominator must submit the nomination by the deadline via https://ssl.linklings.net/applications/ieee-cs-tchpc-early-career-award/ and should include the following:
- Name, email, and institution of the person making the nomination.
- Name, email, and institution of the candidate for whom the award is recommended.
- A nomination statement not to exceed 500 words describing why the nominee is highly deserving of the award.
- Note that since the award is for outstanding contributions in HPC, the statement and supporting letters should address what the contributions are and why they are outstanding and significant.
- Name, email, and institution of 2 individuals who have agreed to provide letters supporting the nomination.
- Individuals listed will receive an email from the submission system to upload their letters of support directly.
- CV of the nominee.

Award Information & Presentation
The awards will be presented at the SC26 conference that will be held in Chicago, IL, USA during November 15–20, 2026. Details of the conference can be found at http://sc26.supercomputing.org/. Awardees will also be recognized by IEEE Computer Society and TCHPC websites, newsletters, and archives.
Awardees will receive the following benefits:
