Quantum computing is rapidly progressing from exploration to practical implementation, driven by advances in hardware and increasing industrial investment. However, the success of quantum technologies depends critically on the development of robust, scalable, and accessible software ecosystems.
This special issue focuses on the emerging field of software for quantum computing, encompassing programming models, compilers, tools, and systems that enable the effective use of quantum hardware and pave the way to large-scale fault-tolerant quantum computers. We invite contributions that address the challenges of bridging the gap between quantum hardware and real-world applications, and that push forward the state of the art in quantum software engineering.
Submissions should present innovative research, empirical studies, or practical experiences that contribute to the design, development, and evaluation of quantum software systems.
