Pedro F. Felzenszwalb

Featured ImageFeatured ImagePedro Felipe Felzenszwalb is an associate professor of Engineering and Computer Science at Brown University. His main research interests are in computer vision, geometric algorithms and artificial intelligence.

Prof. Felzenszwalb received his BS degree in computer science from Cornell University in 1999. He received his MS and PhD degrees in computer science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 2001 and 2003. He was a postdoc at Cornell University from 2003 to 2004 and a professor of Computer Science at the University of Chicago from 2004 to 2011. He joined Brown University in 2011.

Prof. Felzenszwalb's work has been supported by the National Science Foundation, including a CAREER award received in 2008. In 2010, he received the Longuet-Higgins Prize for a fundamental contribution to computer vision and the PASCAL VOC "lifetime achievement" prize. He was a program chair for the 2011 IEEE Conference on Computer Vision and Pattern Recognition (CVPR). He was an Associate Editor of the IEEE Transactions on Pattern Analysis and Machine Intelligence from 2009 to 2013. He is on the editorial board of the International Journal of Computer Vision.
