Darren Galpin currently works at Infineon as Lead Principal Microarchitect/Concept Engineer, and holds positions of Chair of the Functional Safety Standards Committee (where he led the white paper working group which published a paper on the Functional Safety Terminology Landscape), Chair of the IEEE 1647 working group, and secretary of the IEEE 3332 working group. He previously worked at Semtech, UniSemi Power, SiFive, Renesas, Infineon and STMicroelectronics in functional safety, verification, system architecture and product engineering in a career which covers over 25 years. He is an active participant in P2851, and has participated in Accellera activities. He has published papers in the areas of verification and functional safety, and has participated in conferences in the same areas, having been a panelist for two Automotive IQ conferences in 2022. He has a number of patents in the area of verification and safety mechanism design.
