IEEE CS Opens Call for Nominations for Board of Governors

Call for Nominations for the 2025-2027 Board of Governors.

Candidates sought for 2026 President/2025 President-Elect, 2025 Vice President, and Board of Governors’ members

LOS ALAMITOS, Calif., 15 February 2024 –The Nominations Committee of the IEEE Computer Society (CS), the leading computer science member community providing best-in-class publications, conferences, and programs, opened its Call for Nominations for the 2025-2027 Board of Governors. Open positions include:

  • President – The candidate elected in 2024 will serve a three-year term, as 2025 President-Elect, 2026 President, and 2027 Past President.
  • Vice President – The candidate elected in 2024 will serve a one-year term, from 1 January to 31 December 2025.
  • Board of Governors’ Members – Six members elected in 2024 will serve a three-year term, from 1 January 2025 until 31 December 2027.

“The IEEE CS Board of Governors is a central piece of our organization, helping to shape and drive our objectives, values, and mission,” said Nita Patel, 2024 IEEE Computer Society Past President and Nominating Committee Chair. “The industry leaders who serve on the Board of Governors not only gain personal opportunities to grow and make a difference, but also will strategically shape industry direction, champion impactful initiatives, and influence next-generation technology focus. We are thrilled to open the call for nominations to help select those who will drive the next round of Computer Society innovations.”

The Board of Governors is responsible for providing guidance and setting direction and strategy for IEEE CS. In addition, the Board reviews the performance of program boards and other committees to ensure compliance with its policy directions. To be considered for nomination to the IEEE CS Board of Governors, individuals must be an IEEE CS member, must affirm willingness and availability to serve, and must agree to seek significant involvement in IEEE CS activities.

Nominations are being accepted through 22 March 2024 at 5:00PM EDT. Self-nominations are encouraged. Completed nomination forms for 2025 leadership positions may be submitted either as a Word document to csnominations@computer.org or via a Google Form.
