Call for Papers: IEEE Transactions on Software Engineering

IEEE Transactions on Software Engineering seeks submissions for upcoming issues.

About IEEE Transactions on Software Engineering

IEEE Transactions on Software Engineering is interested in well-defined theoretical results and empirical studies that have potential impact on the construction, analysis, or management of software. The scope of this Transaction ranges from the mechanisms through the development of principles to the application of those principles to specific environments.

Scope of Interest

Topics of interest include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • development and maintenance methods and models, e.g., techniques and principles for the specification, design, and implementation of software systems, including notations and process models.
  • assessment methods, e.g., software tests and validation, reliability models, test and diagnosis procedures, software redundancy and design for error control, and the measurements and evaluation of various aspects of the process and product.
  • software project management, e.g., productivity factors, cost models, schedule and organizational issues, standards.
  • tools and environments, e.g., specific tools, integrated tool environments including the associated architectures, databases, and parallel and distributed processing issues
  • system issues, e.g., hardware-software trade-off.
  • state-of-the-art surveys that provide a synthesis and comprehensive review of the historical development of one particular area of interest.

Submission Instructions:

This journal is a hybrid publication, allowing either traditional manuscript submission or author-paid Open Access (OA) manuscript submission. Read about OA submissions here.

In addition to submitting your paper to TSE, you are also encouraged to upload the data related to your paper to IEEE DataPort. IEEE DataPort is IEEE's data platform that supports the storage and publishing of datasets while also providing access to thousands of research datasets. Uploading your dataset to IEEE DataPort will strengthen your paper and will support research reproducibility. Your paper and the dataset can be linked, providing a good opportunity for you to increase the number of citations you receive. Data can be uploaded to IEEE DataPort prior to submitting your paper or concurrent with the paper submission. Thank you!

For author information and guidelines on submission criteria, please visit the TSE Information and Submission Guidelines page on IEEE Transactions on Software Engineering.
