What makes CRS different from other Registration Service Providers?
CRS is not a registration company, but a registration service provider that uses IEEE license with Cvent to build your registration site for the CO and supports key areas such as connecting banking, customer service, and creating reports.
How CRS Works
Step 1: Let's Build
- Organizer completes and submits the Registration Requirements Document (RRD). This helps us know how to build the registration website.
- Organizer procures Conference Concentration Banking (CB) Account with planner. CRS will connect account with Cvent. We'll work with your planner to make the connection.
- This process can take 2-4 weeks to build and finalize the website. Test links will be provided for the organizer to review and approve the registration site.
- Upon final approval of the test site, it takes about 2-3 days to make the site go live.
Step 2: Go Live
- CRS provides online Customer Service to attendees.
- CRS will process payments. While CRS encourages payment by credit card only, the team discourages accepting wire transfers as they can take 2 - 3 weeks to process and may get lost.
- CRS provides organizers access to reporting that can be accessed anytime. Various reports will be provided that can be used to print badges or have a checklist ready for your registration chair and volunteers at badge pick-up.
- The team can also process discount and compensated codes.
Step 3: Closing
- (2-3 weeks post-conference) The CRS team will process any late payments left pending.
- (2-3 weeks post-conference) CRS will process an automated Letter of Attendance if/when the organizer provides the attendance list.
- (3-4 weeks post-conference) The team will reconcile payments with CB Account settlements.
- (4-5 weeks post-conference) CRS will provide final reporting.
Additional Information and Considerations
It is best practice is to go live with registration 3 months prior to the conference start date and earlier if you anticipate visa requests.
Make sure you are aware of VAT and GST requirements for the country the event is located in.
The CRS team can provide badge printing services, but this service is not recommended for international conferences. Finding a local vendor to design and print badges is highly recommended for events outside of the US.
Be mindful that we do have limitations with events located outside the US; including, connecting to local banking and do not offer self-service capabilities.
