Professional Chapters
A Chapter is a geographical subunit of the IEEE Computer Society, established by petition to IEEE. Chapters represent and fulfill member needs in their specific geographical areas, allowing members to meet face to face at locally hosted activities.
In accordance with the actions of the IEEE Member and Geographic Activities (MGA) Board, specifics rules and guidelines apply for forming IEEE geographic units.
To begin the petition process there must be twelve (12) active IEEE Computer Society members to sign the Chapter Formation Petition. For more information on establishing an IEEE Computer Society Professional Section chapter, click here.

Student Branch Chapters
To form an IEEE Computer Society Student Branch Chapter, you need a faculty advisor who is an active IEEE Computer Society member, as well as at least six active IEEE Computer Society Student members.

Start your student branch chapter petition today.
If the petition is in order, IEEE student services will obtain formal approval of the petition by the regional director, the regional student activities committee chair, and the Computer Society President.
