Requires familiarity with Society's strategic goals and their implementation by this Program Board.
Experience in this Program Board Committees is recommended.
| COMMITTEE |
| The PAB is responsible for formulating policies and practices with respect to the Society's role in the development and support of professional disciplines such as computer engineering, computer science, information technology, information systems, and software engineering; including body of knowledge characterization, competencies, ethics, performance norms, and terminology. The PAB recommends, evaluates, initiates, and nurtures programs, products, and services to serve practitioners and their employers. |

|RESPONSIBILITIES|| The PAB Vice President maintains the PAB membership list, appoints members-at-large as provided by the bylaws, appoint chairs and members of standing committees of the PAB, unless otherwise provided, appoints liaison representatives to appropriate committees and other organizations of the IEEE, appoints liaison representatives to other program boards and committees of the IEEE Computer Society, as provided by the bylaws, prepares annual IEEE Computer Society PAB budget and supervises its execution after approval by the Board of Governors, creates ad hoc committees of the PAB and appoint their membership and chairs, and carries out other delegated and assigned responsibilities. The Vice President serves as a franchised member of the Society's Executive Committee and as an ex officio, non-voting member of the Board of Governors (unless already serving as an elected member).

One calendar year. Typically for two terms with possible reappointment by next President.

Required travel to participate in 3 meetings per year. Minimum 4 teleconferences per year. On average will require 2-5 hours/week responding to emails and action items.
