PAMI TC Fall 2000 email
PAMI TC EMAIL: The PAMI TC Email is sent to all PAMI TC members who have included a correct email address in their IEEE Computer Society Registration. You may also request not to receive this mail. Contact: Keith Price, pamitc@iris.usc.edu PAMI Technical Committee membership is officially determined by signing up with the IEEE Computer Society either with you membership or later through: http://computer.org/tcsignup/ PAMI TC EMAIL, October 2000 PAMI TC Web Site: http://www.computer.org/tab/tclist/tcpami.htm Sometimes the pointer from there is wrong and you should use http://iris.usc.edu/~pamitc *************************************** CONTENTS OF THIS MESSAGE: WACV 00 Early Registration and Hotel deadlines are approaching. HUMO 00 Early Registration and Hotel deadlines are approaching. Upcoming PAMI TC Conferences and Meetings *************************************** Two TC PAMI sponsored meetings have registration deadlines in the next few weeks: WACV-2000 December 4-6, Palm Springs, CA The goal of this workshop is to bring together an international forum of academic, industrial, and government researchers in order to present and discuss various applications of computer vision. This will allow researchers in the different applications areas to interact and interchange ideas, so that applications are thoroughly understood and there is a transfer of concepts from one application area to another. The program consists of high quality contributed papers, invited talks, panels and demonstrations covering various computer vision applications. Details on the upcoming conference are at: http://wacv2000.eecs.lehigh.edu/. Advanced registration (i.e. lower fee) is due on November 11th, 2000. Human Motion workshop December 7-8, Austin, TX The study of human motion is a fascinating subject in computer vision, given the attendant complexities of both non-rigidity and occlusion. Following in the steps of earlier workshops such as Motion of Non-rigid and Articulated Objects (Austin 1994), Nonrigid and Articulated Motion (Puerto Rico 1997, HuMAnS 2000 Workshop (Hilton Head 2000) and the First International Workshop on Articulated Motion and Deformable Objects (Palma de Mallorca, 2000) the IEEE Computer Society Workshop on Human Motion seeks to bring together the most current research on topics in computer vision for human motion. For information: http://www.ece.utexas.edu/projects/cvrc/humo. Advanced registration deadline is November 1, 2000. *************************************** These are the major, community-wide meetings for the PAMI TC that are currently scheduled: Paper Deadlines: ICCV-2001 July 9-12, 2001 at Vancouver, British Columbia Paper Deadline: December 4, 2000. CVPR-2001 December 11-13, 2001 at Hawaii Paper Deadline: May 18, 2001. For planning your future: ICPR-2002 August 11-15 2002 at Quebec City, Quebec CVPR-2003 Madison, WI ICCV-2003 in Beijing, China ICPR-2004 Cambridge, England For details on these and many more see: http://iris.usc.edu/Information/Iris-Conferences.html *************************************** For the year 2002, you may wish to consider organizing a PAMI sponsored workshop for the time around ICPR, or consider multiple workshops at one location at another time in the year. ***************************************
