ExpertWave to Promote IEEE Computer Society Certifications
LOS ALAMITOS, Calif., 3 November, 2010 – ExpertWave based in Cairo, Egypt, announced a strategic partnership with the IEEE Computer Society to offer Certified Software Development Associate (CSDA) and Certified Software Development Professional (CSDP) training and certification.
Under the agreement, ExpertWave plans to promote the Computer Society’s CSDA and CSDP programs in all engineering colleges, universities, academic institutions and software companies in the EMEA region to help the IT industry secure qualified students right after graduation and to raise the technical competencies of software practitioners.
The CSDA, designed for entry-level software developers, was introduced in May 2008 and is intended to provide undergraduate computer science and software engineering students their first credential toward a solid career foundation as a software development practitioner. The CSDP certification is intended for mid-career software development practitioners.
The two certifications are the first to conform to the new ISO/IEC 24773 standard, which stipulates methods of certifying software engineering professionals worldwide. The basis of both certifications is the Computer Society’s Guide to the Software Engineering Body of Knowledge (SWEBOK).
