Purna Holds Seminars at Chennai Universities
LOS ALAMITOS, Calif., 12 October, 2010 – Purna Career Solutions (PCS), a registered education provider for IEEE Computer Society software development certifications, has held several seminars at educational institutions in Chennai, India, to explain the benefits of these industry-leading certifications.
During the seminars, Kiron Rao, general manager of Siemens, and Srivatsan, technical lead of PCS, spoke to students at Anna University, the SMK Fomra Institute of Technology, and the Meenakshi Sundararajan Engineering College about the current demand for software engineers and how certifications might help them in their careers.
Rao and PCS Director Ramanathan Meenakshi also met with Dean-IT of Aarupadai Veedu Institute of Technology (AVIT), the IT department head of Jerusalem College of Engineering, and the SSN College of Engineering, all in Chennai.
The IEEE Computer Society offers two software development certifications. The Certified Software Development Associate (CSDA) is aimed at entry-level developers and is intended to provide undergraduate computer science and software engineering students their first credential toward a solid career foundation as a software development practitioner. The Certified Software Development Professional (CSDP) is geared to mid-career professionals.
Under a strategic partnership with the Computer Society, PCS is setting up 22 learning centers to leverage the existing Indian talent pool and maximize benefits to the student community. The company is promoting the CSDA and CSDP programs in all engineering colleges, universities and software companies in the state of Tamilnadu to help the IT industry secure qualified students right after graduation.
