Technical Committee on Microprocessors and Microcomputers
The TC on Microprocessors and Microcomputers (TCMM) is involved with the architecture, design, and application of microprocessors and microcomputers. The TC sponsors and facilitates technical activities across the disciplines of computer architectures, programming languages, and operating systems. The TC sponsors the Hot Chips and Hot Interconnects conferences, now in their 9th and 5th years respectively (as of 1997). The TC also acts as guest editor for IEEE Micro on a yearly basis.
Technical Committee on Microprogramming & Microarchitecture
The TC on Microprogramming & Microarchitecture (TCuARCH) addresses all aspects of microarchitecture including but not limited to high performance implementation issues (such as instruction fetch, decode, execution, state update, and memory hierarchy access methodologies), both hardwired and microprogrammed control, software/hardware scheduling, compiler optimization, and instruction-level parallelism. The TC sponsors workshops, tutorials, and conferences, and publishes a newsletter.
