At this time, I want to take a moment to thank you for your IEEE Computer Society student membership and your ongoing support of the computing and IT community. During the course of the year, I hope you have found time to take advantage of all the benefits, resources, and services available to you.

I am happy to announce that for 2012, student membership dues will not increase. We are continuing to offer the special student membership package for just US$40giving you affordable access to essentail resources while pursuing or continuing your education. We value your membership and look forward to your continued participation and involvement in 2012.

We constantly strive to provide benefits essential to building your future career. We want to offer resources and opportunities for you to learn, connect, and serve the technical community. 2012 Student Member Package
The special student member package for undergraduate, graduate, and non-traditional students pursuing degrees part-time will again be offered in 2012. Students get IEEE and IEEE Computer Society membership plus free unlimited access to the Computer Society Digital Library (CSDL) for just US$40. Current IEEE members can add Computer Society membership for as low as US$8. Through this package, student members have access to a wealth of resources from authoritative publications covering all areas of computing. In addition to over 4,100 conference publications, CSDL includes access to all Computer Society periodicals and the complete archives. Computer Society student membership offers many great benefits, including access to development software from Microsoft.


Launched in 2011! President’s Discussion Corner
The President’s Discussion Corner allows both members and nonmembers to communicate with the current IEEE Computer Society president. Each month a short video blog about an issue, announcement, topic of interest, or controversy is posted on www.computer.org, with an invitation from the president for comments or discussion. The videos and discussions are archived and available for revisiting throughout the year. Check out the current blog.
