Report to Student Members

November 2013

Dear Colleague,

At this time, I wanted to take a moment to thank you for being a member in IEEE Computer Society and for your continued support of our community. Your support is important to our society and helps us support those who are helping to develop computing technology. Your membership offers many career and networking opportunities, and I hope you have been able to take advantage of the many benefits available from the Computer Society.

I am happy to announce that student member dues will remain the same for 2014. Students can still join IEEE and IEEE Computer Society for just US$40.00, giving you affordable access to a wealth of resources as you prepare for your future in computing and information technology. Current IEEE student members can add Computer Society for US$8.00 in the U.S. and Canada and for US$13.00 in the rest of the world.

In 2014, we will continue to evolve Computer Society membership to bring you timely and useful information and resources. We are launching four new publications, which will be included in the Computer Society Digital Library (one of your student benefits), to address topics and issues in the most relevant areas in technology:

  • IEEE Transactions on Cloud Computing
  • IEEE Transactions on Emerging Topics in Computing
  • IEEE Transactions on Network Science and Engineering
  • IEEE Cloud Computing magazine

Our goal is to provide products and resources essential to building your future career, and we are constantly looking for ways to enhance our service to you. Below are just a few of the new and existing benefits and services we believe you will find very useful. Remember, you can always visit www.computer.org to discover all the ways to get the most from your membership.

Your membership matters. Be sure to renew your membership by 31 December 2013. We look forward to your continued participation and involvement with the Computer Society.

Again, thank you for your commitment to the IEEE Computer Society and our community.

Sincerely,

David Alan Grier
2013 President
