Welcome to the March 2012 Edition of the PAMI-TC Newsletter.

This month's topics include:

1. Last Call for Papers: ECCV 2012
2. CVPR 2012 Workshop on Human Activity Understanding from 3D Data (HAU3D'12)
3. ICPR Paper Deadline
4. Call for Proposals for CVPR 2015

Last Call for Papers: The 12th European Conference on Computer Vision

ECCV 2012 solicits the submission of high quality previously unpublished research papers on any aspect of computer vision. Contributions from related disciplines (such as machine learning, computer graphics, biological vision, mathematics) which illuminate the state-of-the-art in computer vision are also of interest, together with papers on longer term research challenges which point to new research directions or brave perspectives that might pave the way to innovation.

Accepted papers will be presented in the oral and poster sessions of the ECCV 2012 technical program. Continuing the top quality tradition of ECCVs, it will be a single-track conference with double-blind peer review process.
March 5th, 2012 – Paper submission deadline
?June 25th, 2012 – Notification of acceptance?
August 1st, 2012 – Camera-ready submission deadline

CFP: CVPR 2012 International Workshop on Human Activity Understanding from 3D Data (HAU3D'12)

Recent advances in 3D depth cameras, 3D information recovery from 2D images/videos, and the availability of portable human motion capture devices have been nurturing a potential breakthrough solution to the problem of human activity understanding by using 3D data. This workshop is to bring together leading researchers in the related fields to advocate and promote a new research direction of human activity recognition using 3D data. The workshop aims to provide an interactive platform for researchers to disseminate their most recent research results, discuss rigorously and systematically potential solutions and challenges towards a robust human
activity understanding using 3D data, and promote new collaborations among researchers.

ICPR paper deadline is March 31, 2012. http://www.icpr2012.org/

Call for Proposals for CVPR 2015. Please send proposals to
sarkar@cse.usf.edu by May 15, 2012. The proposal should include the
following information: date, city, site, hotel, and half the team
details (general chairs, program chairs, local arrangements, and some
of the other members in charge of the program). The team should
contact the hotel/site to make sure the intended dates are indeed
available. Some estimate of meeting space and lodging costs should be
included. My advice would be to plan for >1500 participants. Just for
your information, following are the venues for the next 3 CVPRs: CVPR
2012 (East Coast, Providence, Rhode Island), CVPR 2013 (West Coast,
Portland Oregon), CVPR 2014 (Midwest, Columbus, Ohio)

For reference purposes, the following were the motions passed at past
CVPRs: (i) Future major conference bids will be due at least one month
before the PAMI-TC meeting where they will be voted upon. (ii) No
bids, including floor bids, will be accepted after the due date. (iii)
If no bids are received by due date, the PAMI-TC Conference Committee
will constitute a bid that will be voted upon at the TC meeting. (iv)
If only one bid is received by due date, the conference committee has
the discretion to put together an alternate bid.

As a reminder, the PAMI TC voted at CVPR-2009 & ICCV-2010 to adopt a
policy that program chairs and general chairs of all major PAMI TC
conferences cannot submit papers to that conference the year in which
they are chairing.

We will have a PAMI-TC meeting at CVPR 2012. Time and venue will be
announced at a later date.
