Storage Systems Standards Committee

The Storage Systems Standards Committee (SSSC) was disbanded by IEEE CS Standards Activities Board on 1 February 2017. The Standards Activities Board approved transfer of two SSSC working groups, P1890 and P2200 to the Microprocessor Standards Committee (MSC).

The IEEE Storage Systems Standards Committee (SSSC) is chartered by the IEEE Computer Society Standards Activities Board to develop a standard that will enable delivery of a "high quality mobile experience" (HQME) to network edge devices by managing bandwidth time of use and edge device storage. This means delivering rich media like 3D video to devices such as smart phones without choking the network.
