IEEE Computer Society Member Referral Program

The membership benefit that pays.

No one knows how beneficial IEEE Computer Society membership is to technical and career development better than IEEE Computer Society members.

Consider sharing your Computer Society membership experience and get rewarded for doing so. Through the Member Referral program, Computer Society rewards your efforts in recruiting new members.

Recruiter awards

For each new member you recruit, you earn an award which can be used toward Computer Society dues or the purchase of IEEE Computer Society products and services. During the 2016 membership year (16 August 2015 through 15 August 2016), the Computer Society Member Referral Program offers the following award schedule to members who recruit other individuals into IEEE Computer Society membership.

Professional members can earn:

•    US$15 for each Professional member recruited;
•    The maximum amount a member can earn during the membership year is US$90.

Student members can earn:

•    US$2 for each Student or Graduate Student member recruited;
•    US$5 for each Professional member recruited to e-Membership (offered in developing nations only);
•    The maximum amount a member can earn during the membership year is US$90.

Tips on recruiting new members

•    Invite a prospective colleague/student to attend a Computer Society Chapter meeting to experience first-hand the professional benefits of Computer Society membership.
•    Start a discussion about Computer Society membership, emphasizing the benefits and value – be sure to provide a brochure and/or application information.
•    Keep issues of Computer Society magazines on display to attract the eyes of potential new members.
•    Publish an article in your company or university publications explaining how the IEEE Computer Society helped you.
•    Post announcements of Computer Society meetings/conferences.
•    Welcome your company/university's newly hired or enrolled individuals - use the opportunity to discuss the Computer Society.
•    When discussing membership with a prospect, listen for clues as to what they look for in a professional society. Stress those member benefits that meet their needs.
•    Coordinate an event at your place of employment.
