The World Bank Grants Free Access to Its Data

The World Bank has announced that it’s making its global economic and development data freely available online as part of its newly launched open data initiative. Visitors to The World Bank’s website can find, download, manipulate, use, and re-use data that the organization has compiled for more than 50 years. The organization states it hopes the information will be used to create new applications and tools for development initiatives and projects that will be able to provide solutions for global poverty. The data is accessible in English, Spanish, French, and Arabic. (The World Bank)(Bank Information Center)
