Technology Instruction on the Rise

The market for instruction in programming languages, website construction, and other technologies is booming, according to various media outlets including The New York Times and Forbes. Fueling the increase is the opinion that most people will need some computer-related skills to remain employable. This has created the growth of organizations such as Girl Develop It, Codecademy, Udacity, Women Who Code, Rails for Zombies, and Treehouse, many of which offer some free classes. The Computing Research Association says enrollment in computer-science college and university programs rose 10 percent in 2010, the most recent year for which data is available, and has increased steadily for three years.  (The New York Times)(Technology Review)(Forbes)
