Sophos: India is the Leading Spam Source

Security vendor Sophos says newly released data shows that India is now the world’s leading spam source. The company claims roughly 10 percent of all spam either originated or flowed through Indian-based computers in the first quarter of 2012. The report, which ranked nations based on spam traffic between January and March 2012, pushed the US into second place, followed by South Korea. Sophos adds that there is a continued shift away from traditional spam. More spammers are now using social networks for their campaigns. The firm adds that ISPs are doing better at stopping spam.
