US Tablet Use Soars in 2012

A new market survey by Forrester Research finds that the number of US adults who own a tablet computer has more than doubled since 2011. More than 19 percent or 24 million of adults now own a tablet. The research firm expects sales to continue, growing to 113 million by 2016. Among the other findings in the report are that smartphone ownership should grow to 205 million by 2016 and that four out of five – or 181 million – American adults are online with two in five connecting through the television or related devices such as video game consoles or Blu-ray players. The firm publishes its “State of Consumers and Technology” report annually. (USA Today)(TechCrunch)(Forrester Research)
