At the height of the financial crisis, when the bottom line was more important than ever and pressures at their highest, Gabino M. Roche, Jr. took a job at NYSE Technologies—a young, client-facing division of the New York Stock Exchange. At the time, the Exchange was transitioning to become less of a financial company and more of a technology firm that offered premiere products and services to financial industry players.
In a paper presented at the 2012 Agile Conference (Agile 2012), Roche describes the challenges and lessons learned in implementing agile processes and lean development to meet ambitious organizational goals in this environment.
