I am pleased to announce that, beginning in 2011, TPAMI will be published in an additional format known as OnlinePlus™. Subscribers to OnlinePlus will receive online access to TPAMI and, on a quarterly basis, will be mailed an abstract book and a searchable interactive disk. OnlinePlus will be priced 20% below a standard paper/online subscription to TPAMI. More details about OnlinePlus can be found at http://www.computer.org/portal/web/publications/onlineplus.
The IEEE Computer Society has introduced OnlinePlus because of mounting evidence that many readers make limited use of traditional print media. Print also has significant financial and environmental costs, especially for journals with a large number of pages. Several of our sister publications, including the IEEE Transactions on Visualization and Computer Graphics, are also moving to adopt OnlinePlus; over time it is expected to become the primary publication format for all of the Computer Society’s transactions.
We expect that this new format will be a welcome addition to the traditional TPAMI monthly print subscription, which will continue to be available.
