This December issue marks the end of a long history of printed issues of IEEE Transactions on Computers (TC), which spans a period of 61 years. As of January 2013, TC will move to the OnlinePlusTM mode in line with other IEEE Computer Society publications. Throughout its history, TC maintained its esteemed status through a rigorous review process and the tireless efforts of many of present and past editors in chief, associate editors, reviewers, and IEEE Computer Society staff. This momentum will be maintained because we will strive to keep TC balanced, current, and relevant by engaging the right expertise and supporting new and emerging themes in computing. OnlinePlusTM will allow TC to further grow and continue to be the lead publication in the fi eld. This new form should also be seen as an opportunity to deliver supplemental and enhanced contents. This will of course be assisted by the hard work of all the associate editors and IEEE CS staff. We will continue to be a successful publication by keeping up with the rapid developments in the fi eld of computing and being an incubator for all of new ideas.
