ABSTRACT
Any Peer-to-Peer (P2P) streaming system consists of two distinct but related components: overlay construction and piece scheduling. Besides building an efficient overlay structure for data stream, scheduling the sending order is also important for the stream quality. The aim of this paper is to describe state-of-the-art strategies that allow for deployment of efficient streaming data scheduling in P2P streaming systems. Problem of scheduling is presented at first, and then we present the piece selection strategies in systems using multi-source streaming. We later review in more detail the strategies available for multipath video transmission scheduling. Eventually a discussion of several extended study directions is given.
