XML has become integral to many critical enterprise technologies with its ability to enable data interoperability between applications on different platforms. However, wide adoption of XML is hindered by inefficient parsing methods. In this paper, we present a novel approach for parsing XML in a non-extractive way, encoding node information in 64-bit integers instead of creating node objects during parsing. The testing results show that great improvement has been achieved over present XML parsers, both in terms of memory consumption and parsing performance.
