ABSTRACT
In the era of service-oriented paradigm involving complex technologies like cloud computing and big data resources, the efficient use of infrastructure licenses is an essential basic for successful business processes. This paper considers the balancing of server licensing in virtual server architectures like cloud computing. Based on the research and analysis of existing server licenses, we derive a domain model representing the necessary entities for this problem area. This domain model supports license analysis of Microsoft products. The investigation of appropriated algorithm leads to a model for more than 1000 servers. Controlled experiments validate our approach of license balancing in the cloud computing research area.
