ABSTRACT
In this paper, a function tree method is introduced to design testing cases for input parameters with constraints. With three input parameters X, Y and Z, it is generally assumed that Y is a function of X, Z is a function of $X$ and $Y$. Inspired from geometry view, the approach is a generalization of the traditional boundary value analysis in black-box testing. Based on the new algorithm, an auto-generator is designed and implemented as a testing tool. As an application, two real world systems are discussed.
