ABSTRACT
The governance of network rumors related to social stability, economic development and national security. The research on spreading mechanism of network rumors is an effective way of governance rumors. In this paper, a model of rumors spreading is put forward based on gravitational potential energy from two aspects: rumors and the receivers. Different rumors have different attractions, and different individuals are affected differently by one rumor. In this paper, gravitational potential energy is used to express the appeal of rumor spreader to the receivers. If the appeal is beyond a certain threshold, the receivers will shift to spreaders, forming new gravitational field to attract its neighbor nodes. In this model, some factors of rumor spreading are fully considered. Based on real rumors cases, the model is simulated in Net Logo platform. And the experimental results very fit with real rumors spreading. Therewith, the corresponding strategies and suggestions for rumors governance are proposed.
