High-speed switching, QoS (Quality of Service) provisioning, security, and mobility are main challenges faced with existing networks and to be confronted by Next Generation Network (NGN) researchers and developers. To address these challenges, a new architecture called SUPANET (Single-layer User-data switching Platform Architecture Network) has been developed. But most of works on SUPANET have been mainly devoted to highspeed switching and QoS issues in recent years, there are short of researches on the mobility management of SUPANET. To support QoS and mobility simultaneously, a new QoS supporting mechanism called Differentiated Dynamic QoS Provisioning (DDQP) based on SUPANET has been proposed. To address the mobility problem in DDQP, this paper researched the Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) based terminal mobility management method in SUPANET. Furthermore, an SIP-based QoS-aware handover scheme has been proposed to reserve timeslots on DDQP mechanism
