Television audiences around the world want to enjoy high-quality digital programming. China, which has the world's largest TV market, recently established a Digital Terrestrial Television Broadcasting Standard. DTTB will not only allow improved digital broadcast delivery to rural and urban areas, but it will also support mobile TV, making possible television reception on buses, taxis, and even high-speed maglev mass-transit trains. DTTB will be used for HDTV broadcast during the 2008 Beijing Olympics, and China's large-scale transition to the DTTB standard will follow.
