IEEE Computer Graphics and Applications seeks articles for a May/June 2010 special issue on ultrascale visualization.
As data sets quickly approach petascale sizes and beyond, there's a pressing need to address how to visualize them at extreme scale. The CG&A special issue invites researchers to address the issues of data movement by looking into new ways of constructing an end-to-end visualization pipeline.
The guest editors solicit papers on topics that include visualization and analysis on supercomputing platforms; visualization on high-resolution displays; cloud computing for visualizing large-scale data; and visualization algorithms for large-scale shared- and distributed-memory systems.
Submissions are due by 14 September. Visit www.computer.org/portal/pages/cga/content/g3-10cfp.html to view the complete call for papers.
IEEE Intelligent Systems seeks articles for an upcoming special issue on mobile information retrieval. The proliferation of wireless and mobile devices such as personal digital assistants and mobile phones has created a large demand for mobile information content as well as effective mobile IR techniques. New technologies are needed for representing, modeling, indexing, and retrieving mobile data.
The guest editors are soliciting original papers on research that effectively indexes and retrieves mobile information, can be integrated into unified mobile browsing and retrieval systems, and gives new insight into scalable algorithms allowing access to very large mobile databases.
Submissions are due by 13 July. Visit www.computer.org/portal/site/intelligent to view the complete call for papers and submission instructions.
