<p>This article investigates existing work on some of the important areas of Web graphics. First, the authors look at the current status and future trends of Web graphics standards. Second, they review current work on the development of systems to support distributed virtual environments (DVEs). Finally, they look at the application of human modeling on the Web.</p>
