Board of Governors (2014-2016)
Atsuhiro Goto currently serves as Professor, Graduate School of Information Security, Institute of Information Security (IISEC), Japan. He is a leader of the nationwide graduate schools education program, enPiT-Security, which will bring up promising IT experts with the newest information security professional skills. He also works as a member of Japanese government committees related to cyber-security.
Goto has been with NTT R&D for more than 25 years and made significant contributions on several cutting-edge business developments in Japanese industry. His experience includes leadership of various nationwide projects with major technology vendors, highly reliable cloud computing platforms, and next-generation IP backbone technologies. Goto also contributed to global standardization of cloud computing as Vice Chair of the Global Inter-Cloud Technology Forum (GICTF). His research interests include secure cloud computing, ID management, and big data security and privacy.
Goto received a PhD from University of Tokyo in 1984. He is a member of the IEEE Computer Society; the ACM; IEICE; and IPSJ. He is an IPSJ Fellow. He served as a member of the IPSJ Board from 2008 to 2009, and is serving again since 2014. He was a member of the IEEE Computer Society Industry Advisory Board from 2009-2011 and a member of the Board of Governors since 2011.
