Board of Governors (2012-2013)
Paolo Montuschi is Vice Chair of the Control and Computer Engineering Department at Polytechnic of Turin. He was Department (two terms) and Financial External Affairs Board Chair, and Board of Governors member.
Montuschi currently serves as IEEE Computer Society Board of Governors member, Chair of the Magazine Operations Committee, member of the Publications Board, Audit, and Digital Library Operations Committees, associate editor in chief of IEEE Transactions on Computers, and member of the Steering Committee of IEEE TECT and of Computing Now's Advisory Board. Previously, he served as Chair of the Electronic Products and Services and the Digital Library Operations Committees and co-chair and program and steering committee member of several conferences.
Montuschi extensively contributed to Computer Society activities by proposing several new products and services, new frameworks for scientific publications, and bringing multimedia-enhanced articles to Computing Now. In 2012, he received the IEEE Computer Society Golden Core Award for these contributions.
His main research interests and scientific achievements are in computer arithmetic, architectures, graphics, and new publication frameworks for "augmented reading" and scientific knowledge dissemination. He is an IEEE Senior Member and author of 100+ peer-reviewed journal and conferences articles.
Montuschi obtained a PhD in computer engineering in 1989, and since 2000, he has been full Professor.
